My Favorite Things From February

My Favorite Things From February

Hi guys!!! I feel like I haven’t put a post up in a while. School and life have been crazy these past few months, and I haven’t found the time to do a full post! Can anyone else not believe it’s already March?! 2018 is seriously flying by. Once spring break is over summer is going to be here before we know it!!!

Anyhoo, I thought I’d come back with a post that can best sum up this month — a favorites post!!! I’ve compiled my favorite beauty, skincare and all the other random things from the month of February, and thought I’d share. As always, all of the product links are clickable if you want to get more information or purchase. Let’s get started.

Processed with VSCO with a5 presetThis month I haven’t switched up much in my makeup routine. If I was wearing makeup, it was with my go-to five minute makeup products (that are allll explained in this post!!).  That being said, there were a couple of things I felt like I reached for more, or were the first few things I’ve been reaching for!

VSCO Cam-5.jpgI’ve talked about this Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch concealer a million and one times, but its coverage and brightening qualities just make it so good!!! I use this all on my blemishes and underneath my eyes. It’s come in handy this week when my under eye circles have been extra dark! I have it in the shade buff chamois. It’s really affordable, and worth every penny!

VSCO Cam-3.jpgI have added this Benefit High Beam into my makeup routine recently. I have the teeny tiny bottle version (for half the price!) and have loved using it! I recently realized that powder highlights for me are a little harder to blend, so I went back to this old favorite. It’s a liquid highlighter with a super easy to apply brush applicator that blends reallllly easily to make your glow look effortless. This baby size will last me forever, because a little goes a long way!!

VSCO Cam-4.jpgThis month I’ve been reaching for my NYX Butter Gloss in the shade “Madeline” more than any other lip product!!! This is the perfect nude gloss. It goes well over any lipstick or lipliner, but it’s also really pretty on its own. I like this shade specifically because it isn’t too bold, but still gives your lips color and a shiny overcoat. These butter glosses are so creamy and they taste really good!! They have a million and one shades if you want to see their whole collection here.

VSCO Cam-7.jpgThis month I finally caved and tried out Real Techniques brushes and their beauty sponge. I’ve had my Sigma brush set for years and haven’t ever needed to get new ones! But I’ve heard so much about the RT ones I had to try them out… in mini form! These mini brushes are half the price, so it was easy to try it out. I use the pink mini one for my bronzer and the orange mini one to buff in my concealer and sometimes for my face powder in concentrated areas. They’re both SO soft and are really good quality. If you’ve been thinking about trying them, I definitely recommend!!! The beauty sponge is really sponge-like (haha) and expands to be about twice its dry size when I get it damp! It blends in my concealer and other face makeup really effortlessly, and has helped my makeup look more natural!!! I used to use random sponges from TJ Maxx, but they never expanded or blended as well as this one. It’s worth the higher price tag!VSCO Cam-2.jpg

VSCO Cam-8.jpgI usually keep my skincare relatively simple, and don’t change up many products since I know my skin can be sensitive! But I’ve found some good things this month that have helped my skincare routine!!!

Let’s be real for a second. Taking off your makeup is the worst. It always is! Between pulling at your eyes and skin to get off harder to remove makeup and the oily residue that comes from most liquid removers or even the burning that comes from wipes, it’s the worst. BUT, I’ve found a new makeup remover that’s made the process less miserable!!

VSCO Cam-10.jpgThis Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water is a really good product that both removes your makeup and cleans your face at the same time! I’ve been using this by applying it to a cotton round or two and gently removing my makeup. I’ve found that if you press on your eye for a few seconds then move away the cotton round, it makes the process a little faster and more gentle! The best part for me is that this doesn’t burn your eyes or face and it doesn’t leave any oily residue but rather makes your face feel really clean afterwards!! I had this in a small size at the beginning of the month but repurchased in the normal size after I ran out. I really recommend trying this out if you’re in the market for a makeup remover!!

VSCO Cam-9.jpgI got this Mario Badescu facial spray for Christmas but didn’t start using it regularly until this month! This is a really refreshing product that leaves your skin feeling clean, but also can set your makeup and help it last longer. I’ve been using this after I remove my makeup, or after I wash my face the most frequently. But, if I’m ever feeling extra tired, I use a couple sprays and it wakes me up!!! Like I mentioned before, I’ve also been spraying it on after I do my makeup to create a more dewy finish that helps makeup last longer.

Does anyone else watch “This is Us”? I’ve been watching all month, and there were some really good episodes throughout February!! Between the Super Bowl episode and all the ones that came after, the plot line is really picking up. If you don’t watch it, but love a good heartwarming family show, I definitely recommend it!! I watch this on Hulu.

VSCO Cam-1-1.jpgI was also really excited this month because “UnReal” came back on!!! I have loved this show for its past two seasons, and season three premiered at the end of February!! If you haven’t heard of it, it’s a behind the scenes fictional show based around the Bachelor / Bachelorette franchise. It was started by an ex-producer of the show, so it’s really interesting to think if thats what’s really going on! This is a combination of drama, comedy and a very interesting plot that thickens with each episode. I watch it either on iTunes or online on Lifetime!

This next one is very random, but I’ve been loving “The Kitchen” on the Food Network. I only watch this one live, but in the mornings it’s almost always on! I usually have my TV on Food Network or E! so I usually catch it. It’s something that makes me laugh in the mornings, since some of the recipes aren’t so good, but also is just a good atmosphere and makes your day a little brighter. If you haven’t seen it, you should try to catch it one morning to see what you think.

I’ve been going to Starbucks an obscene amount lately, and the warmer weather has got me ordering my favorite summer drink! A Venti Cool Lime Refresher is (believe it or not) really refreshing and hydrating, and is a lot lighter than a normal iced coffee. It also gives me an energy boost and is really yummy!!! I haven’t had one in a couple days though since it’s gotten a little cold again.

VSCO Cam-1-2.jpg
My mom loves it too!! Haha, she sent me this picture a couple weeks ago while she was experimenting with different flavors.

With the obsession over “This is Us” I’ve also developed a love for Halo Top ice cream, as that’s been my go to snack while watching the episodes!!! It’s soooo yummy. I get it from Kroger, but they sell it at any grocery store. My personal favorite flavors are either oatmeal cookie, vanilla bean or cookies and cream. The best part? They’re healthy! Woo hoo!

This month I was able to get back into a workout regimen, and have been LOVING Orange Theory. If you haven’t heard of it, it’s a 60 minute workout that’s all about you and your heart rate. You wear a heart rate monitor in class and you can see the percentage of your maximum heartbeat on screen to motivate you and help you see how hard you’re working! They have locations alll over the country, and your first class is always free. I highly recommend trying it out! You can find your local Orange Theory here.

There you have it!! February was a super quick month, but I think I was able to accurately capture my favorites!!

What were your must have things from the month of February?! What are your spring break plans? Be sure to let me know in the comments. Thanks for stopping by!

My Current Favorite Hair Products

My Current Favorite Hair Products

Hi guys!! I’ve done a couple posts on beauty (you can see a stream of allllll of them under the beauty tab), that have all been more makeup-based. Today, I’m going to take you through my current favorite haircare products, ranging from my favorite hot tools to my favorite shampoo!! I’ve found that my haircare products tend to stay pretty consistent, partially because I buy shampoo in bulk, and my other products are tried and true.

Screen Shot 2018-01-23 at 5.49.10 PM.png
I’m on the far left with my long, wavy hair!!!! This is from December of 2016. (hi Vera, Sarah and Savannah!!)

For those of you who may not know, I actually have naturally wavy-curly hair. But, when it air dries it goes insane, and I’m more of a morning shower person nowadays so I find myself blow drying it out and running a straightener through it. To blow dry and style my hair it only takes around 20-25 minutes, but I’ve found that taking the extra time to style it helps my hair last a few extra days, and become a whole lot more manageable!!!

I do get balayage coloring every once and a while, but once you get that form of coloring  once it grows out really well and doesn’t need to be kept up with as much as regular highlights. Ever since I’ve been at school, I’ve been getting more inches off rather than just a trim since it’s so dang hot here in Auburn!!! The long hair look just isn’t doable here. I mean people do it, but I just sweat to death!!! Hahah, but really, I’ve been into the shorter hair look.

Okay enough with all this chatting, let’s get started.

I’ll be honest and say that I’m a little picky when it comes to shampoo and conditioner. I have to like the smell of them both, and the conditioner MUST have detangling capabilities. Especially when my hair is wavy,  tangles can get so gnarly!!!

Processed with VSCO with a5 presetBut this pair of purple Pureology shampoo and conditioner is one of my favorites I come back to time and time again. My mom originally found this and I started using it after seeing how soft it made her hair!!! They smell divine, and are really good at detangling. I get them in the biggest bottles they sell, because I think that’s the best value. They also are the cheapest on Amazon. I had big bottles like these for the entire first semester (August – December) and didn’t run out until last week. They’re a little pricy, but they’re worth it and will last you FOREVER!!!

VSCO Cam-1.jpgI used to always either use no heat protectant, or some version of a spray. I found this cream heat protectant a couple months back per recommendation of my hairdresser. It’s the cream / gel-like heat protectant from Bumble and Bumble, and it’s made specifically for curly or wavy hair!!! I used to never blow dry my hair since it would blow up like a lion, but since using this it’s made it significantly more manageable. Since it’s in cream form, it makes it easy to make sure you get every piece protected.

I’ve also always experimented with different hairspray products to get rid of frizz after I style my hair, but after my hairdresser used this awesome oil from Bumble and Bumble, I’m never going back!! I would usually think that an oil would make my hair more oily (naturally, right?!) but instead it gives my hair a really good shine, reduces frizz and helps keep my hair straighter for longer. It’s a little pricy, but I actually found mine at TJ Maxx for a lot cheaper, and they also sell a mini size at Ulta near the checkout if you want to try it out!!

I do usually blow dry my hair and run the straightener to it ever since I cut it shorter. I find it lasts a few more days and is a lot more manageable (and cute!!) when its straight. I’m really not picky about a hair dryer, and mine is a Remington one my mom got me on Amazon!!VSCO Cam-2.jpgBut as far as straighteners go, I’m definitely picky. My hair is so wavy naturally that I’ve learned that the better quality straightener, the better quality hair day!! This Paul Mitchell one is my favorite. And it’s on SALE!! It’s in a limited edition breast cancer color scheme and theme, but it works the same as the other versions! This one heats up quickly to 410 degrees and cools down pretty quick when its time to clean up. I’m a huge fan!

VSCO Cam-4.jpgI’m not even being dramatic when I say that this Wet brush has changed. my. life. I don’t know what I did without this thing!! I now own four and I’m always finding them in bags, in my car and all over my dorm and house back at home!! Somehow, this brush seamlessly goes through my hair after I get out of the shower, and also whenever I need to tame the mane when it’s dry. If you haven’t tried this, you’re seriously missing out!

VSCO Cam-6.jpg I’ve used a bunch of different hair ties in the past, but these phone coil ones and the metallic looking ones with the charm are my favorites!! I got these at TJ Maxx, but they both don’t leave creases in my hair but still keep it up tight enough to work out in!! I highly recommend. You can find them at TJ’s, Marshalls or Nordstrom Rack to get the best deal. I think they’re overpriced on Amazon!!

I’m so glad I got around to posting this hair care post!! I’ve had a bad hair cut experience in the past (if you know, you know!) and I’ve taken my haircare seriously since then to make sure it stays healthy, even though I get it colored every once and a while!

Please leave me a comment down below telling me what YOUR must have hair products are!!

Hi guys!!! Today I thought I’d go through my makeup and share the best of the best in every category of eye makeup. I do have a 2017 favorites post where I list a couple of my eye makeup favorites, but here I’m sharing more per category and other products I’ve been using looooong before 2017!!!

All of the product links in this post are clickable if you want more information!! I’m sure you can tell that many of these products are well loved and have lived in my makeup bag for a while. Be sure to leave me a comment down below with some of your favorite eye makeup products! Let’s get started.

Cream Shadows and Primers

Processed with VSCO with a5 preset
From left to right: Chanel Emerveille, MAC Bare Study, MAC Painterly

I’m a firm believer in priming your eyes before applying eye shadow. It really makes your eyeshadow stay on for SO much longer and look more vibrant. I also loooove cream shadows, they’re so quick and easy when you wear them on their own, but also make your shimmery shadows that much more pigmented!!

MAC’s Painterly Paint Pot is a product I’ve talked about multiple times on here!! But in short, I use this as a base for all my eye shadows. I also wear it on its own just to get rid of any veins or oil on my eyelids. MAC also has another Paint Pot in the shade Bare Study that’s another favorite of mine. It’s a shimmery champagne shade, and it looks really cool on its own!! It also has the same staying power as the Painterly one, so I can just quickly apply this with my fingers to my eyelids if I’m in a rush.

VSCO Cam-2-3-1.jpgA couple years ago I randomly splurged on this Chanel Emerveille cream shadow, and I’ve loved it ever since!! The color is more of a shimmery rose gold with a really cool cushion-like texture, making it really easy to apply. It works really well on it’s own, but also works well with a champagne or rose gold eye shadow on top. I also apply this one with my fingers, making it really quick!!

Eye Shadows

VSCO Cam-8.jpgIf I’m doing an everyday eyeshadow look, or even going out somewhere fancy, I always tend to use shimmery lighter eye shadows rather than creating dramatic smokey eye or darker looks. Partially because I’m really not good at eye shadow, and also because I just feel like just a little shimmer can help brighten your whole look!!!

Everybody who knows a thing or two about makeup has heard of allllll the variations of this Urban Decay Naked Palette, but my favorite is the original. I think this palette has the most warm toned shades that appeal to my style of eyeshadow looks. The quality and pigmentation of these shadows is so great, and I like having options to do darker more dramatic looks if I’m feelin’ fancy. My hands down favorite shade in this though is the light pink shimmery “sin” shade!!!

Another option for me when I want to go a little more bold is using my mini Lorac Pro Palette. The middle shade, “pewter”, is a really cool and pigmented shimmery taupe that blends really well in the outer corners with a champagne colored lid shade. It’s a really cool combo!!!

VSCO Cam-4-3.jpgI found this NARS Alahambra Eye Shadow Duo a little while ago, and it’s definitely my most reached for eye shadows. It’s right up my alley, just two really shimmery and pigmented shades: one more pinky, and the other one on the gold spectrum. I love mixing these two together and putting it on my lid, or using each on their own, or if I’m feeling fancy, I’ll use the pink one on the inner corners and the gold on the outside. Even though there’s only two colors, I’ve been able to make a bunch of different looks with it!

VSCO Cam-6-2.jpgA really easy way to get more definition in your crease and more color in your eyeshadow look that I’ve discovered is bronzer. Lately, I’ve been taking my favorite bronzer, Benefit’s Hoola, on a fluffy crease brush and blending it in. It isn’t as harsh as a dark brown eyeshadow, and looks really cohesive with any contour or an all over bronzed look!!

VSCO Cam-5-2.jpgI’ve found I’m not particularly good at doing eyeliner, so I need to use products that are suuuuuper creamy to make my job a little bit easier. My favorite black eyeliner comes from Maybelline. It’s really creamy, but also really easy to smudge with a smaller brush in case you mess up and need to correct your line.

I love my brown eyeliner from Urban Decay in the shade Bourbon. These pencils are insanely creamy and pigmented, so even if you stink at eyeliner like me you can still get a good and thin line!!! I really want to try this one out in different colors. Brown eyeliner is always a good way to go if you want something less harsh than black!!!

Another good tip that creates the illusion of eyeliner that I’ve been sticking to lately is taking a little bit of any black eyeshadow on a super small eyeliner brush. I’ll take it and gently tap it on the outer portion of my upper lash line as thin as possible. This helps make your eyelashes look more full without going through the hassle of eyeliner!!!

VSCO Cam-7.jpgMascara is definitely my favorite makeup product!!! If I’m not wearing anything else, I know that no matter what, mascara can make me look more awake and alive!! I’ve tried SO many different ones, and these are some of the best!! I wanted to include a high end and drugstore favorite in this post for y’all.

On the high end spectrum, my usual go to is the Too Faced Better than Sex mascara. It works really well, and makes your lashes instantly full of volume and length in just a couple strokes! I use the non-waterproof for day to day use, but I also have the waterproof for when I’m on vacation or going to be going in water somehow!!! The waterproof stays forever though, so be ready with some good makeup remover to take it off!!

The L’Oreal Lash Paradise mascara is the best drugstore mascara that I’ve found. It’s a dupe for the Too Faced one, and it gives a really similar look. I think that the only difference is that it takes a couple extra run throughs of this L’Oreal one to get the same effect. The price tag is SO much more appealing, and it’s the one I’m reaching for the most right now!!

So there you have it! The best of the best eye makeup products. These are all tried and true, and are all worth the investment! I’d love to make this a series, with my next posts about face and lip products, maybe.

What’s your must-have eye makeup product?? Let me know in the comments. Thanks for stopping by!!

My 5 Minute Makeup Routine!!!

My 5 Minute Makeup Routine!!!

Hi everyone!! I definitely don’t wear makeup to class everyday, but sometimes it makes me feel more awake and productive if I do! So when I decide to get ready before starting my day, I’m often doing my makeup in a rush and have developed a simple five minute makeup routine that looks like it took a lot longer. For me, in a short time frame, I just want to concealset, and brighten as quickly as possible to make me look the most ready.

Stay tuned to the end of the post to see a special snow-day outfit of the day! It’s super comfortable and cute. Don’t forget all the product names are clickable if you’re interested in learning more about each one! Let me know in the comments what your tricks are for a quick and easy makeup routine!   A lot of these products I used were mentioned in my favorite beauty products of 2017 post, if you want more information on why I love them! Let’s get started.

5 Minute Makeup

VSCO Cam-2-1.jpgI always find myself tackling my under eye circles first. Once those are out of the way, I feel like my face instantly looks much more awake and ready! (I go waaaaay more into detail on these next few products in their own post you can find here!)

I first use my First Aid Beauty concealer to color correct, and then use the metal side to de-puff. I’ll use my fingers to blend if I’m in a rush, but if I have a little more time I’ll use a damp beauty blender. I don’t have the real, name-brand blender, I have a much cheaper one I found at TJ Maxx! I find they all work the same. I mentioned before it’s important to brighten my face too, since that makes me look more awake. I love my Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch concealer underneath my eyes to brighten, but it also has reallllly good coverage so I’ll use it on my blemishes too (which saves time &&&& money!!). I set my concealer afterwards quickly with my Maybelline FIT Me powder with a big fluffy brush. I use this brush from Sigma!

VSCO Cam-3-1.jpgEven when I’m in a rush, I still want to have some color on my face during the winter time. I’ll take that same big, fluffy brush with my Benefit Hoola bronzer and brush that all over my face. Obviously, in a time crunch I won’t contour or anything, but just taking this lighter, matte bronzer all over my face can really make me look less pale, and more awake! If I have time, I’ll use some of my Benefit Hervana blush for just a little more color.

VSCO Cam-4.jpgFor my eyes, I focus on brightening, and I feel like that comes the most easily with a good mascara. I’ll use my MAC Painterly Paint Pot every time to make my eyelids all one color and avoid oil accumulating there during the day… and plus, it only takes about 5 seconds per eye! I’m not very good at doing eyeliner quickly, so I usually skip that step when I’m in a rush or just doing everyday makeup. But, my mascara has to be one that can get a lot of product on while still being efficient and not causing too much of a mess! I love the L’Oreal Lash Paradise mascara right now. It’s much less expensive than my usual Too Faced favorite, and gives a very similar look. I usually only need one coat of this then I’m ready to go!

VSCO Cam-5.jpgFor my lips, I’m always reaching for chapstick when I’m trying to do my makeup quickly. I found this Vaseline Rosy Lips chapstick recently at Walmart, and I’ve been obsessed! It makes my lips sooooo moisturized and also gives a natural rosy tint that looks like its more of a lipgloss!

There you have it! That’s my five minute makeup routine. My normal makeup is verrryyyy similar to this, just with a couple extra products and steps. If you want a more in depth post on that I’d love to make one!

VSCO Cam-6.jpg

Today we actually had NO school because of the snow that covered Auburn overnight! I wanted to share my somewhat-warm but still comfortable and cute lounge around outfit for the day. This Old Navy sweatshirt top was one of my favorite winter items to wear to class, and it’s just as comfortable to lounge in (it’s also 20% off!!!). I also love these Lululemon joggers. They’re warm, comfortable and super practical! These slippers are a must-have for me (they’re also on sale for $23!!). My dorm get sooo cold when I have the windows open so I wear these constantly!

Be sure to leave a comment down below telling me what your must-have product is when doing you’re makeup quickly!!! I’m always looking for more tips. Thanks for stopping by!

My Favorite Beauty Products from 2017

My Favorite Beauty Products from 2017

Hi!! I know 2017 seems waaaaaay far in the past, but I decided it was still early enough into 2018 to do a roundup of my favorite beauty products from 2017. I’m planning on doing monthly roundups of favorites, so I thought I’d kick them off with this post! I found so many products this year that I’ve repurchased or recommended to my friends and family. I decided to split up this post into categories of face, eyes and lips to narrow down my favorites! All of the product names are clickable links if you’re interested in checking out more information!

I don’t wear a full face of makeup everyday of 2017, but when I did, I used all of these products! I don’t ever wear foundation, so I don’t have a favorite one of those.

My favorite two concealers (one for under eye, one for all over my face!) are awesome! I’ve used these two for the majority of the year. The First Aid Beauty Eye Duty Triple Remedy concealer is a game-changer. I go more in detail on how I use this and its benefits in my three product under eye circle remedy post. I also love the Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch concealer. It’s SO brightening but also has good coverage, so I use it on my under eyes and on my blemishes. I found it way before 2017, but I still kept it constant throughout the year! It’s a dupe for an Esteé Lauder concealer.

My favorite powder is the Maybelline FIT Me in the shade 230. This is such a matte powder that keeps oil away, and makes your pores appear smaller. This is an affordable product that I use allll over my face and I can’t recommend enough (and I found it on sale)!

I’ve become reliant on bronzer during my more pale months! Haha. I’ve been loving this Hoola Bronzer all year! It’s the perfect shade for when I’m pale to use to give myself a little more color, and also a great shade to use as a matte powder when I’m tan but need a boost! It’s matte, which I love, and comes in a smaller tester size you can find here if you don’t want to commit to the full size.

Benefit is one of my all time favorite brands. SO many of their products are amazing! This blush has been a staple for me forever. The Hervana blush from Benefit is the perfect natural blush shade. The packaging is so cute, and the product lasts forever! This blush shade would work on so many skin tones. It’s perfect!

Eyeshadow for me is fun, but stressful. I always feel like I’m gonna mess up! For reference, my go to eye look is a simple shimmer on the lid with liner and mascara.

Eyeshadow primer is the product you never know you need until you use it. I cannot stress enough how much my makeup life has changed since I started using the MAC Painterly Paint Pot!!! This is top three best makeup products I’ve found of. all. time. It’s amazing. It keeps your eyeshadow in place, but at the same time I wear it on its own just to get my oily and veiny eye lids to be one shade. This product is the best!!

Like I said, I tend to stay away from dark eye shadows. That’s why I love this NARS eye shadow duo in Alhambra. These shadows are so pigmented, and with this duo I’ve found I can make a lot of looks. I can use each on its own, blend the two together, make an ombre style look or put the champagne shade on my lid with the gold in my crease. If you’re more drawn towards sparkle shades, this is the duo for you!

I’ve always been bad at eyeliner. I still am. But, this Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Bourbon makes it SO easy, and it looks SO good. The shade is awesome! It is a dark brown with golden shimmers which looks less harsh than black. This year, I tried to get more into liner and this product helped so much! It really does glide on sooooooo smoooooooth.

Mascara is my number one product. If I’m wearing any makeup at all, I’m always wearing mascara. I really feel like it can change your entire look, and I’ve tried so many over the years! The Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara is amazing. It makes your lashes look so good! Over 2017, I repurchased it multiple times. But, I understand its pricy, and in December I found a dupe for it in the L’Oreal Lash Paradise mascara. The lash paradise is very similar if you don’t want to splurge, but the Too Faced one is hard to completely replicate!

I’ve been pretty steady with this lip combo for the majority of 2017! I’m really simple when it comes to lips!! I’m always a fan of a good nude.

I found the NYX Lip Liner in Nude Beige this year and it’s awesome! The color is a great nude, it lasts for a long time and it glides on super easy. It’s a great base for lipstick. I recommend these liners in any shade! This shade is my favorite though.

I found a baby sized MAC Velvet Teddy lipstick in the Ulta checkout line last summer and I’ve been obsessed ever since! I love the color and it goes on so smooth. It is a matte lipstick which can be a little touchy, but if you follow it with a gloss it’s perfect.

This was a little harder to narrow down, since I find myself changing up glosses more than any other lip product. But, my go-to always is the NYX Butter Gloss in the shade Madeline. This gloss is SO smooth and silky, stays forever and is such a good shade. I’d repurchase again and again!

I’m so glad I was able to share my favorite products of 2017 here on the blog. Let me know in the comments what your go-to products were from 2017!!!! I’d love to get more suggestions to try in 2018. Thanks for stopping by!

The BEST Way to Get Rid of Under Eye Circles!!!!

The BEST Way to Get Rid of Under Eye Circles!!!!

Hi!!! We’ve allllll had those nights where we’ve stayed up too late studying, or gone out to late, or (more popularly for me) a Netflix marathon that lasted a few episodes too long. After realizing my under eye circles needed to be under control, I developed this three-product remedy to get rid of those pesky purple bags!

This first product is a First-Aid Beauty concealer that is a game changer. It’s called the “Eye Duty Triple Remedy”, and you can find it here or in stores at Ulta or Sephora. I actually found this product after I had a tubing accident at the end of last summer. I ended up having an awful black eye days before I left for school and recruitment. I walked into Ulta and told them that no matter what the price, I was leaving here with the best product to de-puff and color correct underneath my eye!!! She directed me to this product, in the shade fair/medium, and I’ve used it ever since!!

First Aid Beauty Eye Duty Triple Remedy – Shade fair / medium

I squeeze some of this onto my finger and I dab it underneath my eyes. Then I take the cooling metal side of the applicator and spread the product around. This metal part is always so cold and immediately decreases puffiness, and the product itself has pinky undertones, specifically to target the purply-blue color of under eye circles. I’ll usually take a small beauty blender (I have off brand ones from TJ Maxx) or use my ring finger to dab it in afterwards.

I follow that product with a brightening concealer I found at Target. I’ve used this Maybelline “Dream Lumi Touch Concealer” for years now. You can find it here, or at any drugstore, Target or Ulta. It’s so good at brightening and has good coverage, so it adds the extra brightness that my under eyes need in the morning!!! I just crank this up a bit and brush it under my eyes and blend it in with my mini sponge or my finger. I also use this concealer on my blemishes and it works really well! I have the shade Medium.

Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Concealer – Shade Medium

I find that this concealing duo works well to conceal, but I always use a powder to set it all. My favorite is the Maybelline “FIT Me” Powder in the shade 230. You can find it here, or at any drugstore, Target or Ulta. I LOVE this powder. My best friend Savannah told me about it a couple years ago and I always come back to it! For my under eyes, I actually just use the sponge it comes with. I’ve found that dabbing it straight from that sponge allows for good coverage and a matte finish that doesn’t look too powdery. I also use this all over my face with a big fluffy brush!!

I hope that this post was helpful. I use this three-product method every time that I wear makeup, and I swear by it! Thanks for stopping by.
